Joanna "Jo" Farrell, FNP - Family Nurse Practitioner
Joanna "Jo" Farrell, FNP, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Northwest Colorado Health with more than a decade of healthcare experience spanning critical care, family practice and ski patrol. Born and raised in Colorado and a Steamboat Springs resident since 2021, Jo is committed to providing accessible, compassionate and evidence-based care while building trusting relationships with patients and families.
Education and Clinical Background
Jo earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wyoming, with minors in Outdoor Leadership and Nutrition, and later completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice at the same university.
Experience across diverse healthcare settings has shaped her approach to family practice and reinforced a commitment to caring for the whole person.

Jo believes that strong relationships are central to compassionate healthcare. This approach combines evidence-based care with attention to each patient’s individual needs and circumstances.

Life in the Yampa Valley
As a Colorado native who calls Steamboat Springs home, Jo feels fortunate to live and work alongside the Steamboat Springs and Craig communities. Serving patients through Northwest Colorado Health offers an opportunity to give back to the region and its residents.
Outside of work, Jo enjoys skiing, running, biking and exploring the Colorado mountains.
